Kodiak Island
Mountain Goat Hunts

Take on a true self-guided Alaska mountain goat hunt on Kodiak Island, with access to remote high country and the security of a warm, stable base aboard the F/V Valiant.

Kodiak Island Mountain Goats

Mountain goats are not native to Kodiak Island and were introduced in the early 1950s. Since then, they have established strong, healthy populations across the island’s steep cliffs, rocky ridgelines, and high alpine terrain. Kodiak’s goat country is expansive and rugged, offering excellent habitat that supports solid numbers throughout the season. Known for their striking white coats and ability to thrive in extreme terrain, mountain goats on Kodiak are a challenging and rewarding species to pursue.

Self-Guided Mountain Goat Hunts on Kodiak Island

Our mountain goat hunts take place on the remote South End of Kodiak Island, where steep climbs, exposed ridges, and unpredictable weather define each day in the field. We position hunters close to productive high-country access points, allowing you to focus on climbing, glassing, and hunting independently. As a licensed hunt transporter, we provide safe transportation, dependable communication, and a stable place to recover after long days in the mountains, without guiding or influencing your hunt.
